Hall Facilities

The Village Hall is just over 100 years old. It was built in an old chalk quarry.

Later, when the road behind was made, the aggregate was used to fill the back of the quarry, compressed and tarmaced and became the Hall’s car park.

Hence the car park is level with the roof of the Hall.

The hall is also on a higher level than the path at the front; consequently it gives problems for anyone who has difficulty in walking, or in a wheelchair or even pushing a pram to use it. We are addressing this problem - See Refurbishment Programme

The hall is owned by the village and is run as a Charitable Trust Charity Number 523266

The hall is at the centre of village life and many regular events take place here and is also available for parties, discos, quizzes, children’s parties etc.

The main hall is 15 metres long by 3 metres wide and can be divided into 2 rooms. It has a regulated entertainment licence to hold 100 people. There are plenty of tables and chairs.

The kitchen is equipped with crockery and cutlery for 70 people.

The car park at the rear holds 9 cars.
