Hall Refurbishment Programme

We thank the Big Lottery for their help in applying for this grant,
the encouragement given and for the grant itself.

Houltons builders have been busy for a while now. The doors have gone, the kitchen has gone plus part of the back roof. Having said that a new water supply has been ordered and the electric metre is organised to be tucked into the hallway. There are marks on the walls for lighting. They had to start later than expected and we will not be ready to open in September, but it will probably be 1st November. We hope to have an opening day and a celebration for all the people who have helped in so many ways.

Adverts will be spread around the area…The YCA, Gardeners club. Coffee morning and possibly Fellowship will all return to a very different hall.

We hope that there will be people in the area who will be happy to volunteer in such a useful hall, perhaps there will those who could organise a Club night, or a badminton night, the hall is a bit narrow, but whilst you learn to play and remember the rules, you can really become good players. Table tennis will also need a volunteer or two. For how to book, the cost of hiring the hall, all of it or part of see Bookings page. Also the cost of weddings, the hire of the hall, the tables, cloths and crockery.

Any suggestions of what you would like to see happening in the hall? Please let us know. Suggestions on the Little Weighton Facebook page or write to 6 The Close.

Disabled Access
A disabled access ramp will be built from for easier access from the extended car park (which is level with the roof of the Hall). The ramp will zigzag down a small piece of land, leased from the Parish Council, to join the path into the hall.

Hall Closure in 2017
The hall closed on Thursday 3rd February for us to clear the hall of all equipment, chairs crockery etc.
The hall is planned to reopen on 1st November 2017

Does anyone feel they can help us ? Have you any fundraising ideas or can you organise an event yourselves? It is a case of the more the merrier. The hall will be updated, warm and easier for everyone to use.
